Scandinavian Coffee Art Print by Ingela Johansson

Coffee to Wait captures that quiet, intimate moment of anticipation — when time slows down just enough to feel your own heartbeat and thoughts.
She stands there, maybe waiting for someone, maybe waiting for news, or maybe simply waiting for her coffee.
It’s the soft pause before movement, the space where anything can happen.

This artwork reflects the beauty of that in-between moment:
the stillness before action,
the gentle hopefulness,
the sense that a single pause can hold a thousand possibilities.

Painted with Löfbergs coffee and expressive ink, the artwork carries warm natural tones that mirror the subtle emotional temperature of waiting — not rushed, not restless, simply present.
A reminder that sometimes the pause is the moment.

This piece is part of Ingela Johansson’s Coffee Collection, a series that began with an accidental dip of a brush into a coffee cup in Singapore in 2014. Since then, she has painted with brewed coffee, boiled coffee, espresso, cold brew, instant coffee and grounds — each creating its own texture, tone, and emotional atmosphere.

About the Artist

Ingela Johansson is a Swedish artist and lifelong coffee lover whose expressive art has been exhibited in nine countries. She grew up in Karlstad — a city known for the comforting scent of freshly roasted coffee from the local coffee roaster Löfbergs, a fragrance that has followed her throughout life and now finds its way into her art.

She is represented by Barlow Gallery (US) and Gallery Lienhart (Stockholm).

Her art explores movement, emotion, and the inner stories we carry — bringing art with heart & soul into your home.

Every Painting Has Its Own Story

Every painting I create has its own story - but the most important story is the one you'll create with it. When you bring this artwork into your home, you'll receive a handwritten letter from me sharing the painting's journey. Over time, it will become part of your story, your memories, and your space.

Original paintings by Ingela Johansson come with a handwritten letter about the story behind the work.
“The painting that I bought from Ingela makes me happy when I come home.” — Lillemor Thorsén, Sweden
“The painting I bought reminds me of one of my best days with my sister. It is my favorite.” —Eva Runald
“When I first saw the painting I saw my dog, and next to it me. I love it.” —Helena Yxhammar
