A Dance of Colors and Life at Gallery Lienhart’s Christmas Salon

A Dance of Colors and Life at Gallery Lienhart’s Christmas Salon

I am overjoyed to share my recent participation in the Christmas Salon at Gallery Lienhart in Stockholm! This exhibition has been a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with the inspiring gallerist Hanna Lienhart and showcase a selection of new original paintings from my Dance Collection.

The Dance Collection embodies movement, energy, and the vibrancy of life, brought to life through the graceful silhouettes of dancing couples. For this exhibition, we decided on a warm palette dominated by shades of yellow—a color that exudes joy, vitality, and light. Interestingly, this shift in focus to couples dancing brought a smile to my dad’s face, who has often pointed out the imbalance of women dominating my work.

To create an intriguing contrast on the gallery wall, we paired these dynamic dance-inspired pieces with a serene painting titled Flow of Life. This artwork features a woman moving effortlessly by the water, symbolizing the moments when life feels as fluid and gentle as a flowing stream. The juxtaposition of energy and tranquility resonated beautifully with visitors and gave the exhibition a balanced narrative.

I was thrilled with the warm reception my work received and delighted to meet several of my art collectors in Stockholm during the exhibition. Sharing the energy and stories behind the paintings with them added a personal touch to the experience.

It was also a joy to meet and collaborate with fellow artists Erik Hedin and Nina Björk during the exhibition. Their inspiring work and shared passion for art added to the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of the Christmas Salon.

A highlight of the event was delivering a commissioned painting to the talented actor Samuel Fröler. Samuel had been captivated by my live painting of a Magnolia tree outside the gallery during my solo exhibition in May. He shared a touching story about planting the tree and surrounding it with tulips—not just to enhance its beauty, but to protect it from photo-seeking visitors! Now, he has a painting that captures the tree in full bloom—a lasting reminder of its vibrancy and the joy it brings.

The Christmas Salon at Gallery Lienhart runs until December 4th, 2024, in the evening. If you’re in Stockholm, don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in this celebration of movement, color, and life.

Thank you to everyone who made this exhibition special, from the gallerist and fellow artists to the visitors and collectors who continue to support my art.

Wishing you all a season full of joy, energy, and life—just like the dance of colors on the gallery walls.

Warmly,
Ingela Johansson
