Joie de vivre, with all your senses

These paintings began with a dream.

When we started dreaming about and planning Paint & Enjoy in Provence, memories came back to me. As a child I travelled to France with my mother. Not to Provence, but by bus to Paris, watching the landscape pass by on the way. Becoming a painter and living in Paris was also my mother's dream. Painting in France has been a lifelong dream of mine.

Last year we had Paint & Enjoy at Domaine Rabiega. I believe these paintings came from that. And from books about the joy of life in Provence, like Je m'appelle Agneta by Emma Hamberg.

For me, they are about joie de vivre. That wonderful feeling of simply being. Enjoying with all your senses: flowers, olive oil, wine, good food, markets and beautiful landscapes. And perhaps a friend or someone you love by your side.

Inspired by being in Provence. But perhaps just as much by the dream of being there.

What's your story?
