Coffee to Bloom is a poetic, abstract flower painted with Löfbergs coffee and expressive ink — a piece that grows gently across the paper like an unfolding thought or a moment of quiet inner awakening.

Soft organic shapes open outward, blending the natural tones of coffee with fluid ink lines that suggest petals, movement and becoming.
This artwork captures the feeling of blooming from within — the subtle transformation that happens when something new begins to take shape.

Part of Ingela Johansson’s ongoing Coffee Collection, Coffee to Bloom continues her exploration of coffee as pigment, a journey that began accidentally in Singapore in 2014. Each type of coffee reveals its own personality, and here the tones create a warm, earthy, blooming expression that feels both grounded and ethereal.

About the Artist

Ingela Johansson is a Swedish artist and lifelong coffee lover whose expressive art has been exhibited in nine countries. She grew up in Karlstad — a city known for the comforting scent of freshly roasted coffee from the local coffee roaster Löfbergs, a fragrance that has followed her throughout life and now finds its way into her art.

She is represented by Barlow Gallery (US) and Gallery Lienhart (Stockholm).
