Scandinavian Coffee Art Print by Ingela Johansson

Coffee to Think captures that gentle moment when the world slows down just enough for you to hear your own thoughts.
It’s the pause before the day begins — when the first sip of coffee helps you gather clarity, reflect, and step into the morning with a softer, steadier mind.

The original artwork was painted with my grandmother’s boiled coffee from Löfbergs, a deep, nostalgic brew that creates warm earthy tones and expressive fluid lines. This type of coffee pigment is perfect for an artwork about reflection, stillness, and those first quiet ideas that arrive before the day becomes busy.

This piece is part of Ingela Johansson’s Coffee Collection, sparked by an accidental dip of the brush into a coffee cup in Singapore in 2014. Since then, she has painted with espresso, cold brew, instant coffee, grounds and boiled coffee — exploring how each type of coffee brings its own emotional tone and texture.

Coffee to Think is a tribute to the small rituals that help us breathe, pause, and reconnect.

About the Artist

Ingela Johansson is a Swedish artist and lifelong coffee lover whose expressive art has been exhibited in nine countries. She grew up in Karlstad — a city known for the comforting scent of freshly roasted coffee from the local coffee roaster Löfbergs, a fragrance that has followed her throughout life and now finds its way into her art.

She is represented by Barlow Gallery (US) and Gallery Lienhart (Stockholm).

Her art explores movement, emotion, and the inner stories we carry — bringing art with heart & soul into your home.

Every Painting Has Its Own Story

Every painting I create has its own story - but the most important story is the one you'll create with it. When you bring this artwork into your home, you'll receive a handwritten letter from me sharing the painting's journey. Over time, it will become part of your story, your memories, and your space.

Original paintings by Ingela Johansson come with a handwritten letter about the story behind the work.
“The painting that I bought from Ingela makes me happy when I come home.” — Lillemor Thorsén, Sweden
“The painting I bought reminds me of one of my best days with my sister. It is my favorite.” —Eva Runald
“When I first saw the painting I saw my dog, and next to it me. I love it.” —Helena Yxhammar
